Early Childhood Music Enrichment

Amy Brownell, MMT, MT-BC

Amy uses her experience from working as a music therapist and a preschool teacher in order to provide developmentally appropriate music enrichment programs for children. She has always enjoyed working with young children, and during her music therapy internship program, she fell in love with incorporating music into the preschool setting to help children learn concepts, transition, and build the daily living skills they needed.

Amy teaches music to children of all ages in individual and group settings.  She builds groups inside and outside of early childhood learning programs that help children develop through listening, playing, moving, and singing to music.

Amy is trained in the Sprouting Melodies program, which was founded by Elizabeth Schwartz, MA, LCAT, MT-BC and Meredith Pizzi, MPA, MT-BC.  This early childhood music program for music therapists works with caregivers to use developmentally based music and interventions when interacting with children under the age of 5.  Caregivers and children participate in this music-making program together, which functions in a group setting.
